Chlorine byproducts Detrimental chlorine byproducts (chloramines and trihalomethanes) are formed when Chlorine combines with nitrogen and organics (human skin cells, sweat and urine).
THM Stripper Side Loop HPT systems utilize a THM stripper on a side loop that removes 50-90% of chloramines each pass.
Sand Filtration Side Loop HPT systems employ a small side loop of sand filtration to capture the small amount of particles that pass through the drum filter’s special filter element.
UV Sterilization Most or all of the main flow in an HPT system goes through UV that addresses the soluble nutrients like sweat, urine and saliva in the pool water.
